Hello, Welcome to the forum. Nice to meet you. :thumb:
I know ay how rude of me I do apoligize I joined this forum a while ago but never got around to getting on here, it wasn't long after I got another bike so I've been busy enjoying that.
You prolly see people like me on here all the time and it makes your skin crawl... join, sell their bike with a single post an then be gone forever.
A mate reminded me of this forum an I thought may aswell try here, besides you guys all love GSTwins so what better place to have my old pride and joy to go to.
I won't lie I prolly will pissoff once my bike is sold but you never know I might get another twin down the track.
I'm pretty desperate to sell my GS500 as I'm out of work on sickness benifits and really need the money to see a neuroligist. It will be a regretfull sale to say the least, I love having a bulletproof commuter just sitting there ready to go at a moments notice, it's taught me some priceless lessons this bike an really I will hate to see it sold.
Cheers
Ps. nice to meet you too, keep the shiny side up :D
DamageINC, believe it or not, I was getting a remedial massage today and talking to the masseuse and her boyfriend is looking for a LAM bike quite possibly a GS500. I gave her your name and phone number, plus also told her about this and the other forum so they could see pics. Hopefully they'll give you a call. :thumb:
Cheers matey.... 1000 thankyou's
DamageINC have you thought to keep to use as commuter for work only? Keep upgrade bike for weekend and GS500 for work duties and as spare if other bike in workshops?

I know nothing about AUS pricing, but why so damned high?
Its an 09, with no plastics, and missing the oil cooler.
I can buy a fz8 for 2 grand more.
Not trying to be a duck, but wondering.

In Aus they came faired and naked (still do for existing stock), faired get a little more than the naked.

As you can probably tell buy now, in Australia we get ripped off buying anything to do with motorbikes, gear etc.
I wanted to upgrade to a brand new Z1000 $11,000 in the States
$15,000 here in Oz, our dollar is worth more and we are closer to Japan so why the extra $4,000+?
just cause they can and get away with it to.....
I was looking at a Z1000 in black, brand new 2012.... 9100. 21 miles.
still for sale.... $4600 take it away :woohoo:
bump :technical:

Aren't bikes more expensive down there because they have to put the steering on the right side?

lol yeah... but the main change in cost is the super magnetic rims!! ... to keep us from fallin off the bottom of the planet and all!! .. proper undetectable magnetic rims cost a $bomb !!!
:icon_rolleyes:
I don't really know anything on the subject but the difference in price from US to AUS could be due to different import taxes and tariffs. It might cost more to import from Japan in AUS than US.....and also, I could just be talking out my butt! :D

It could also be that the gubbamint hates Motorcyclists because we don't pay as much for fuel and shaZam!, so they have to jack up the tax on importing them into the country. Gotta get their money from somewhere, lord knows they spend enough of it each day.
Brand new GS500 is still about $8000 at the moment. Dunno how much you lot across the lake pay, but damn sure it's less than that.
I paid $3499 for a brand new GS500F model year 2009 in March of 2011. USA Dollars of course. With taxes and registration, etc. it was more like $3750.
Too me a MONTH of negotiating and trying to find a dealer before I bought it. 1.99% financing for 5 years. $62 a month.
I need this bike sold $4199 ono
this bike has been SOLD!!!!!!

Aussies are ripped with anything that is imported in... Govt thieves.. Anyway you can pick up a new GS 500 naked for $5990 Ride - Away... thats with 6mths reg , not 12.. Always a catch! 8)
