Title: new rear turn signal problem
Post by: cheeterpasteen on November 23, 2012, 10:42:35 PM
So I bought the bike without any rear turn signals, the guy just cut the old ones off. It was always very weird. The flasher relay was fried so the front signals didn't even work. I got around to picking up a cheap two pin relay today for 4 bucks at advanced. Plugged it in and the front signals work fine now. They are incandescent. Then comes the problem, I was trying to mount the rear signals, led's with a reistance doohickey to slow the signal to make them flash at normal rate. But when i connect the rear signals and hit the thumbswitch, my headlights flicker and the rear signal doesn't even work. On top of that, my battery is slowly dying cause of something to do with the new relay so I had to push start her to get home today. I am going to unplug the flasher. She ran 1000 miles before that with no battery problems so obviously something is up with the turn signal wiring. What can I do to go about sorting this wiring out!? its very annoying, ive also had problems with the neutral light and headlight indicator.

Should I just buy a new wiring harness or try to fix it?

Every single bulb in my bike is LED. My gauges, my indicators, my front and rear turns and my brake are all LED. But my flasher is made specifically for LEDs and everything works just as it should.

I bought my 3 pin LED flasher off ebay for around $10
