Title: Oil Filter Deal
Post by: rharding91 on November 30, 2012, 03:57:57 PM

45$ for six filters is that a good deal?

No. That's $7.50 per oil filter. I hope that price includes shipping. Why buy so many if you are not saving any money on each filter?

A google search shows BikeBandit has filters for $4.17

If you still need 6 filters that's only $25, maybe $35 with shipping included.

If you must have K&N they run $6.36 but I've never heard of a GS performing different because of different filter brands.

Ouch I just saw it pop up looking at parts on ebay and I think I got ripped having a local mechanic order me one then. Looks like my next filter change im ordering from bikebandit. Is that where you get your filters from?

Only when I'm ordering other stuff, because their shipping is a minimum of $7.50.

I usually just get them from the local auto parts store or suzuki dealership when I am buying oil. I think the filter from O'reilly's Auto Parts is around $6 (comes with new o-ring) and the OEM Suzuki filter from Aurora Suzuki here in Seattle is around $8 (no new o-ring). I just buy it however is most convenient.

I still think its funny because doing the oil change myself is going to cost $20 on the bike including at least a trip to buy the oil/filter or some time ordering it online and then another trip to dispose of the oil, but with a coupon I can get someone else to change the oil on my car for $17 after all the fees while I get to go for a burger.

Ya same here I take my car down to get the oil done and its 20.88$ after tax maybe I should ask if they would do my bike also. Just buying the oil cost more than that.
