So I cleaned and rejetted my carbs (125/40 - 2.5 turns) and still have my stock intake and exhaust but DAMN what a difference! So here is the story I had a tank that looked like someone did a Kreme job on but it failed and stated coming apart and kept on rusting. I found a tank on ebay and pulled the carbs for a cleaning and a rejet and finally put it all back together and did a carb sync on Sunday. I then took it out for a a short jaunt and boy was I impressed, I got on the freeway and opened it up, before I knew it I was in the triple digits and still pulling, as I went under an overpass I saw Johnny Law sitting on his Chips bike, good thing he was distracted by something on his tank while I got off the throttle all nice and quiet like.
So here are the pics and a vid..

Here is a pic of the bike with the new tank.. My kids call it the "Altimate Lakers Fan Bike" now. I need to paint or swap out those plastics, tank needs touch up anyway.

Here is a vid of it running after some syncing, please comment on how it sounds, never had a GS before and not sure how they should sound stock..

I am soooo glad I did the jets and sync. I still need to tweak the idle mix screws and maybe add a washer to the carbs. Still has some flat spots and a bit of a stumble. Have not read the plugs yet, heck have not even cleaned em from before when it ran like crap..
Thanks GSTwins.com!! You boys rock!!
Syncing really makes a difference! I have only done it twice now but I always notice the bike sounds better and feels better. After the last sync my fuel efficiency went up by 5 mpg. Makes me wonder what these bikes would be capable of with a fuel injecting system.
Awesome work!
Hey is that my car in the background?

I am thinking I should have replaced the needles in the carbs. They were a bit pitted, any suggestions on where to get them?
