So I've been in the process of installing a koso speedometer. I have all of the electrical hooked up, including the ground, and i was trimming and taping all of my connections together to clean up when I decided to cut the old speedometer ilumination bulb as it was burned out and unnecessary. (Could be tacho bulb there are two of them.) I thought I didn't need it as the new speedometer is digital and has its own backlight and system. As soon as I cut the wire my headlight went out and I heard a distinct click of my fuse blowing. I replaced the blown fuse and connected the two wires to the speedometer light together (grey and black/white) and hoped I had fixed the problem. I turned the key back on and, click, the fuse was gone again after a brief flash from the headlight. What is going on? Does the main power run through this bulb or something? I checked the wiring diagram and it doesn't really seem so..
What steps should I take to fix this? The bikes electrics ran perfect, then I cut that bulb, and this problem started..
Black w/ White tracer is ground, if I am not mistaken? If you connected Black w/ White tracer to grey...you just created a short. :dunno_black:
Oh my goodness. The bulb was out, not running, then I cut it with my METAL pliers. That connected the circuit and created a short. Then when I thought they needed to be connected I inadvertently wired a short. So if I go and disconnect that short all will be well. Haha so simple yet I would have not thought of it on my own. Many thanks!

I was going to bring that up, but I figured I would help you with your
current short :thumb:

Just went out and disconnected my short accident. She works fine now. I had to cannibalize the fuse from my other gs.. :dunno_white: sad day. But the new Speedo is very cool. Super compact and has a nice layout that sits well right above the bars. Almost died from confusion for a bit there.. thanks again!!
And I try not to metal in such affairs.. ;)
