Your sprockets shouldn't look like saw blades.

Was going to tension Lita's GS today when I noticed the rear sprocket was a wee bit worn. 16K+ miles and two chains wasn't too bad...
wow.... that's one worn out sprocket. is 16,000 miles a typical replacement mileage?
16k sounds a tad low, but the "two chains" bit has me shuddering...
yeah I know, I am rather negligent about chain maintinance.
On race bikes its not a problem because you take the wheels/sprockets off so often that you take care of the chain by course.
But I tend to treat my street bikes like cars, use'em and leave'm. It doesn't help that she rides for hundred mile spurts once a month or so...
I thought the wear was from all the wheelies and burn-outs ;)
HA!
Only on Sundays on the way back and forth from church. ;)
I have seen sprockets worse. The teeth were so worn that the chain would skip under hard accelleration.
Yeah I've seen 'em worn to nubs too (but never on my own bikes!)
I just thought these looked too much like a circular saw blade...

Well you did say that you were adding onto your garage. :P
