Title: Time is closing in on my build, another engine replacement ?
Post by: xunedeinx on December 20, 2012, 09:24:36 AM
How about a engine from a vz800 marauder?

Bulletproof, 55hp, 68tq, redline at 9500k rpm.

Seems to me it would be a lively, and attainable addition to the GS frame.

Still thinking about the kawasaki 650 swap, but kind of like the apparent simplicity of the vz800...

What about another parallel twin engine?

Triumph
Kawasaki 650
Honda Hawk
Ninja 500
Suzuki 650 twin (from the 80s)

May need to modify the frame since some will be taller. Then, with liquid cooling you'll have to figure out mounts for the radiator. I have not started with the engine mounts yet.
