Was riding to work this morning and took a corner. We got a quarter inch of snow on Saturday so of course VDOT put gravel everywhere. Hit a patch, lowsided the bike. I am unhurt but the bike has seen better days. I will be taking it apart tomorrow when I'm off work to figure out if it's worth fixing. I may have just been given the impetus to start my streetfighter project. We shall see.
Post some pics of what parts you might need.
I shall in the morning after I've taken some, I took the bike home and took my car to work, and it's already dark outside. Tomorrow I'll take the fairings off and evaluate for structural damage, and go from there.
What did you learn from the crash?

Yup, there is the obvious lesson, but it's the more subtle lesson that is the most important.

Yup, there is the obvious lesson, but it's the more subtle lesson that is the most important.
Truth, my obvious lesson was: Don't jack up the rpm's and dump the clutch. The subtle lesson was: don't be a dipshit squid trying to do wheelies after riding for only 2 weeks, especially when you have nothing but a helmet, t-shirt, and shorts. Lesson learned, painfully
When riding in NOVA in the winter be on the lookout for gravel, and do not take corners as fast as you do in the summer.
Don't forget to loosen your triple clamps off
No frame damage, forks are straight, and the bike runs and rides. My plan is to get new rear plastics to cover up the subframe, and get a streetfighter type headlight. Also considering some sort of small digital speedo/tach, to keep the naked look clean. Here it is naked: (http://i.imgur.com/w0RjD.jpg)
I'd say the damage is irrelevant because it is not a GS500.
Why not just redo the fairings? F3's look terrible as fighters. Ok my opinion, but unless you rework the whole back end it just doesn't look right. Most of those panels are pretty cheap on ebay and you can fix them easily. I like to use Rapidfix myself. Your tank is ok so you don't have to worry about that. Maybe rework some used panels and what you can salvage from yours and work some sliders in while you're at it? Definitely doable but your bike sir.
Here's my before and after. I'd say even this could be fixed, just depends on if someone wanted to do it.

Sorry about your bike. I'd be furious if I dumped my pita and had to redo those shaZamin fairings again.
The left side fairings are trashed, so repairing them is out of the question. I considered getting a new fairing set, but I'm not sure how much longer I plan on keeping this bike. When I do end up getting rid of it I'm going to sell it to my friend who wants to use the motor for a project he's working on. For now I just want to get it legal again and get back to riding.
Ok I can understand that. I hope you post up what you decide to do with it. :thumb:
Will do. I ordered a set of Aztec8 DOT approved headlights, new footpegs, and an Acewell universal gauge that has a tach, speedo, engine temperature, odometer, and indicator lights. Should be nice once I get it all put together and clean up the hideous Honda wiring.
