Just got my new Motobatt battery. $77 including shipping from Motobatt website.....Came in three days!
It has 4 terminals (2x plus, 2x neg) so you don't have to worry about which side the cables are on...also terminals can be hooked up for top cable attach or side cable attach...clever design! On top of that there is no drain so you don't have to worry about which side the drain tube is mounted. Exact size as original...dropped it in, hooked it up...it comes already charged, no acid pack to mess with....good to go!
It is made in China...but quality seems pretty good.....
AGM Battery at Advance is almost $100.....but they don't make one to fit GS500 anyway.....
So the Motobatt seems a good compromise of quality, price and convenience...Sealed AGM means no leak, no drain, no water to add, no maintenance........It has just a bit more cranking amps than original and more amp hours........

Hey TooCool. I have one also and it is nice to have those extra terminals. My bike had sat for about two weeks with no riding (bad weather and busy work) but the other day I decided to fire it up and let it warm up for a while and we had some really cold nights just prior but it fired right up with no issues. Im happy with it and Im sure you will be with yours too!
Yeh, Twocool, it's such a clever terminal design on the Motobatt range. Quality seem good, too.
I had one on my GS and never a problem at all when my current battery dies I will replace it with a motobatt as well.
