Title: vance and hines exhaust?
Post by: Dorianfes on January 02, 2004, 01:49:10 PM
hey guys, haven't had a chance to really post in awhile.  in chicago, it's not exactly the best riding weather.   anyway.... my question is that i  have an opportunity to buy a vance and hines exhaust for a ninja 500, i was wondering if this could fit on a gs 500?

Are you the one selling all of the GS500 parts?  Engine, gauges, exhaust?
Willing to make a deal before bidding ends?

I tried the same thing, attempting to score a  kawa V & H off ebay. The seller , A retailer of such items, informed me that it would not work. The kawa has two into two exhaust anyway.

Depends what year exhaust. Look at my bike and the proof is in the pudding.

If that exhaust was any lower you wouldn't a kick stand, just lean it to the right.

Dude it may fit but it just doesn't look right.  Something that small on a GS.  It's like 2+5=10.  It really looks out of balance.

All just your opinions and you know what they say about opinions. They're like assholes, everyone has one and alot of them stink. Sorry for looking for an alternative to an exhaust, seeing how there are so many on the market, but I like it alot. It's no smaller than the one made for the GS. Plus it gives plenty of space to do oil changes and no messing with the center stand. So, to each his own.  :nana:

javio1, why didn't you just get a GS500 exaust? Was that just a good deal at the time? It appears to not be the best fit. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just a bit odd. Enlighten us if you will.

It was a great deal and I like the old low slung look. Kind of like the old megaphone exhausts on older bikes. Just my OPINION, right?   Oh, and like I said before, oil changes are a breeze since the pipes swing over to the right side of the bike.

So lemme get this straight - that pipe on your bike is from an EX500 (header and all...)?

Hmmm... I've got an aftermarket EX250 pipe at home... wonder if that would fit...
