I have my 93 GS500 in the garage that I'm looking to maybe sell in the spring. It has under 9,000 miles on it, not mint, but great condition, and I'm thinking about selling it in the spring. I'm in central new jersey and was wondering what a fair asking price would be for it.
check my site for what it might be worth based on kelly blue book and NADA gudes...but best bet is to search out classifieds from last year, same time you're planning to sell (library maybe?) and check what the local market is like...
good luck. what you going to replace it with? you ARE going to replace it, aren't you?
By the way, your site is amazing and has too much information to be takin in at 3AM. By the blue book, i'm looking at 800 - 1000, and for that i just might keep it unless just the right fella came along looking to get into riding as I did when I stumbled into my 500. Thank you very much for the pricing info.
As for the replacing it, I actually bought a silver sv650 3ks this year and haven't had the time to dedicate to the 500 any longer... decisions decisions...
appreciate any other pricing/selling/buying info provided.... thanks in advance.
check your local market! I found that in L.A. they were selling for a bit more than the blue book value. In fact, compare the kbb and nada prices and the top prices of the higher one of those two was the low end of the market value locally...make sense? Might want to read that again in the morning.
Ok, now not to get too silly here, but what does the EP signify... I bought the bike used, and going from the title and plastics, I'm figuring I got myself one genuine GS500 without all this EP sillyness... (p.s. don't mind me, it's now 5AM)
i'm sure you can get 1500 for your bike...i just bought a '92 with 6800 miles for a grand he could of sold it for more if it was summer time
bought my 93' w/ 11k for 1500 in good shape w/ new tires and a chin fairing. I thought it was a good deal.

I bought my 97 last year with 11k on it in good shape for $1800 and I am also in Central Jersey. I would think you could get around $1500.

i bought mine (97) last winter for $600, 3k miles but had to replace forks. which i got from jared :thumb: ,so prices run from book values, desirability, season, amt. of bikes in the area, demand etc. set high, you can always bargain down if need be :thumb:
got my 94 in august with 10k miles for $1100 bucks in nyc...i kind of regret it as i couldve found a better deal if i held out a little longer...it was kind of a spur of the moment purchase..oh btw i got the purple paint scheme AND the tank doesnt match...look at my avatar! the tank isnt even glossy...its not matte either...its peeling in some places and its blue under....i dont really expect to get my money back when i sell it unless i sell it with my spares(yosh exhaust, kat shock, 2 extra tanks, 1 fender, tail plastics set, left side tailpiece, dark grey set of wheels)
Paid $1900 for my '93 (in '96) with 5,000 miles and some spares. It was mint - not a scratch on it. But it did have the pink splash graphic (John, we need some sort of pukey smiley for situations like this!)
My guess for you would be the $1200 range. List it a little higher than you figure it's worth and see how much interest you get!
Thanks for all the input, Looks like I'll be dropping her in the papers the first hint of 75 degree weather we get (that's when I'd always had the itch for a bike worst)... for $1500 and see who bites...
