Title: Spitting noise on warmup
Post by: Reckoning on January 12, 2013, 11:57:16 AM
Not always but sometimes while my bike is warming up it will make a spitting noise, I've noticed it very rarely while I'm riding also. When it does it, it seems to maybe happen 4 or 5 times then it seems that it gets it out of the system. It doesn't seem to be affecting performance while riding.. just don't want this to evolve into a worse problem. Have you guys seen this before?

By spitting, do you mean popping?  My bike makes strange noises at startup that go away when warm.  Most likely normal.  Post a YouTube video to make sure that the noise is not bad.

Good idea, I'll put it up when I can.
The best way I can think to describe it is spitting

Does it seem to be making that sound in the carb/airbox assembly.  That what mine was doing (i called it sneezing) before I synced the carbs.

Sounds to me like it isn't fully warmed up

True. Imagine you car's radiator thermostat stuck open.

That's an air cooled engine.
