Title: New from NSW
Post by: ausgs on January 13, 2013, 03:25:18 AM
G'day, just got my L's a couple of months ago at 50 have been riding dirt bikes since I was 10.
Got a 2011 GS500F which is great except for the rear brake squeal!
Anyway just got to do the most test in a few weeks time at Tuggerah on the Central Coast and ditch the L plates
Going to start looking at new exhaust soon

Hi AusGS. I'm in Sydney too and got my Ls at Tuggerah last year, a few days before turning 50. A new GS was my 50th birthday present.

Are you from the Central Coast or Sydney based?

Welcome mate from another 40+ L plated rider :)

Unlike you, I haven't riden any motorbikes in my life, so this is the very first experience ever and I fell in love soon after getting the Ls and venturing on the roads.

Make sure you post pics of your GS500F, as mine is a 2010 model. Rear brake is fine on mine, but I mostly use the front anyway ;)

oh darn .. no delux brakes for me! ... however i do have the 'limited edition' blown fork seal! ... it limits the riding i can do ... come to think of it... as Martin Lawrence says in Bad Boys .. "limited edition!? ... damn right its limited!.. no cup holders!"

My rear brake squeals too :( Slipperymongoose put something on that made it stop but it's worn away since and the noise is back...oh well, could be worse....

That's sounds about right Cods! I don't really care enough to get some but I might when I sell the bike so it doesn't put off any potential buyers  :thumb:

I'm going to try some disc brake quite on the back of the pads and see if that helps.
