My desktop cycles through a set of pictures, changing every 15 minutes or so. How to choose....
Also, AussieChick, you haven't seen desktop clutter until you've seen mine :icon_eek:...I'll post it the next time I fire up my work laptop.

Never can go wrong rockin a gs :)
Random motorcycle wallpaper #123432953. I have a bunch in a cycle.

Ok, so in terms of total coverage, it's not as bad as cheeterpasteen's desktop, but I'm also using small icons and a 22" display. The desktop pic cycles through a directory of motorcycle pics that I have liberated from various locations on the internet. Mostly stock GS, some Triumph and some Yamaha.

haha if the buttons are bigger it forces me to clean up every once and a while. :p

For me, if it's something I'm actively working on, I need to keep it on my desktop. Otherwise, I spend more time looking for it than working on it. :dunno_black:
i used to scerw with people, having 2 or 3 of the same icon on my desktop, of which only one worked as designed. others were static
A fun prank to pull on someone is to take a snapshot of their desktop, set the snapshot as the desktop picture, then deselect the option to show desktop icons. This is guaranteed to screw with someone using a Windows machine, but I don't believe the same prank can be pulled on a Mac.
On a Mac you can take a screenshot of the desktop, then open the screenshot full screen in the default preview app. Hide the image controls in the bottom right corner. Then the only way out is to hit escape. All other buttons and actions do nothing. Not much of a prank for someone who knows their way around macOS but for all those people who only have a Mac because they like their iPhone, pranks like that are hilarious.
Another good one is to use universal access to invert the colors and zoom waaaaay in on the mouse cursor so that it is all you see on the screen.

Off Topic:
That reminds me about one of the things I miss after converting from a Mac to a PC (work responsibilities changed): the fact that you could zoom in on anything so easily.

As time passes, these are becoming less compelling arguments.
Steam now has a client for Macs...that takes care of more than 1/3 of all games worth playing. :D Also, VMWare/Parallels can allow you to also run Windows on your Mac from within the Mac OS. For that matter, with the appropriate setup, you can load and boot Windows directly on your Mac. Basic engineering software will work just fine like this. (The advanced 3D modeling stuff, not so much.)
Probably the same photo i had last time haha. Been missing the subie so I dug this one up a month or so ago. Ignore revit on the left, was too lazy to crop it off..

true. will be feasible once they quit being 4 times hte price. for the same hardware. until then ill build my own mac. nowadays its easy. used to be damn near impossible. still a Buddha Loves You but hardware is identical.

I agree that price is still a very compelling argument. It's hard to argue that paying $2300 for something you could make for $750 is a good deal. From this perspective, Apple is going after technologically illiterate people and "scene kids" who have to have certain items as status symbols. That is part of Apple's marketing genius.

that and not licensing the dsign like ibm did back in teh day. up until recently it was hell to build ones own mac. ive used mac cases to build my own comps. ( a mac case in which lives a pc) nowadays tho a hackintosh is fairly easy. setting it up is the Buddha Loves You though
