Title: Yoshimura stainless TRS for sale
Post by: weedahoe on January 21, 2013, 05:02:01 PM
This TRS I was going to replace the can on and use on the left side. The can is caved in on one side but is $65 from Yoshi. The part number is SCTRX1850R their number to call and order is 1-800-634-9166, opt 3. It is a slip on but uses the springs rather than the clamp. You can also weld it on if you like

$75 for the one that needs a new can.

Either way, far less than any on ebay

Is the $150 can designed for the GS500, or is that from another bike?

Looks like it's designed for the GS500.

It is the one made for the GS.

The thing about the TRS is, no matter what bike they say they are for, they are all the same external length and size internally. I just bought a full set of matching TRS with pipes for a Busa. They came in today and they are the same as what is on the GS5.

How they mount is the difference and although the one of my bike now has the slip-on for the stick GS5 exhaust, the other one that was for a GSXR can be made to fit with very little effort.

True...thanks for answering my question. I'll see if I can scrape up the money.  Almost hard to beat the price on that one.  Don't hold it though.

Yeah, I bought it back in Oct I think and I paid more than that for it.

Hell, even if you bought the other one and changed the outer shell like I was going to do, its still WAY less than a new one and with a new shell, bands and rivets, it would BE a new one.

Weed, my chain is on it's last legs, so looks like that is where my money will go this month.  Need that over an exhaust at this point.

No worries at all brother. You're getting new sprockets too though right?

Yes.  Ordered a front 17 tooth Sprocket.  Did not order a rear yet.  Figured that the front takes most of the brunt.

IDK really. I would think it equal but like I said, IDK. I just know some guys don't like to buy the whole package. I was riding with a local guy a couple weeks back and his chain started jumping because his teeth were so worn. :(

I have seen the videos posted to YouTube with a Yosh exhaust on the GS, but I don't recall seeing comparisons before/stock & after/Yosh. How does it really sound as compared to stock? Is it a great deal louder?

Yoshi in good shape is sold

Yoshi that needs new sleeve is still for sale.

$75 for that one or for 150 I will order a new sleeve, replace and repack it for you.

I edited the first post to show the one for sale.

The one that needs a new sleeve is still for sale. A new sleeve from Yoshi is $65.  So $75 for the one I have plus $65 for a new sleeve is still a lot less than a new Yoshi.

If its got everything I need to throw it on the bike I'll take it. So it will fit my 2005 no problem?

You will have to cut you exh and likely get a small piece of pipe added from the Y to the muffler. I have the mid-pipe that goes with it out in the shop but not not how it will line up as I wasnt concerned with it because I was running all new exh (which I recently did)
