Title: Airtech fender!
Post by: mustangGT90210 on January 30, 2013, 12:31:26 PM
I scored an Airtech fender off Adidasguy... Got it this morning, put it on the bike 10 minutes later. Cursed for an hour because I refuse to take the wheel off the install a fender, and then wah lah! Since I know there are very few pics of an otherwise stock GS with this fender, enjoy guys, hopefully it'll clear up anything for anyone thinking about it. Pics aren't the best, but I have to work in 20 minutes, so they'll have to do.

Definitely a nice looking addition! I wanna see how a full set of air tech fairings would look with the same color code. Mmmmm.

That was the only one I had. I got it in a parts lot from a member over 2 years ago. I painted it with a Suzuki silver then a 2kMax clear coat. Inside I painted black.

I do have the airtech seat cowl on the shelf. I haven't decided what to do with  that yet.

Very welcomed addition to the bike for sure. I hated the stock fender to the point I took it off, I felt it just ruined the look of the front end. Now once I get a new headlight it outta look reallll good on front

You oughta send your gas tank and fairings over on this way so that addidas can match the paint. That front fender would look even sexier if everything matched.

My gas tank isn't worth the $3 to even repaint. It's full of dents, and has a hole plugged with JB Weld, a pin hole about to open up (weeps gas sometimes) and overall is just an eye sore! Back plastics... don't really care either lol I'm looking to chop the tail on this and do a cafe racer style seat/tail. My rear subframe is bent a bit, so that's what leads me to wanting to cut it off.

Now, if I had me a nice tank and a perfect frame, that's a different story!

That's never good! What's wrong with it?

I believe it has something to do with the crankshaft... I cant get to it cause I dont have an appropriate flywheel puller at the moment. Just as a side note, I really like the color of that dang smexy fender. And it makes the bike look a lot newer.

I'm with you, I love that color. I may have to paint my new tank that color!  :woohoo:

Btw mustang, is your rear end suspension/linkage completely stock? looks like it is raised up off the tire a little bit. If so how did you achieve that? Katana shock?

Rear end is stock as far as I know. Set to 4 on preload (stock setting even I think).

I don't know the difference in shocks, never seen any but the one on this bike. It doesn't bottom out even with a passenger though. And we're about 300 pounds + whatever we have with us.

Nice haha. I have lowering links on mine right now and I really don't like how low it sits and close to the tire it rides. I am going to go to adidas guys to get some stock dog bones sometime soon. Your gs looks sick with that air tech fender and yellow rims though.

Well, you can send it to me, after I PayPal you something.

Thanks! Those wheels are such a polarizing aspect of my bike, I don't know what to do with them. They're forever dirty, but they're unique too. And a real pain to clean! I can't decide if when I get my new front wheel if I'll stay yellow or paint the wheels black and run yellow spokes or a yellow rim stripe
