Hey all, spring is around the corner and I'm thinking of easy things I want to do on the bike. Just small things.
Main thing that bothers me is the rattling of the tach and speedo as the rubber 'gaskets' around them are perished. Anyone have a cheap solution to it? Not that I'm opposed to spending the $12, I'm just thinking that there has to be an easy alternative that is readily available at a hardware store.

As always, thanks guys.

Put an extra washer behind the gauges to pull them into the housing tighter.
See washer 18 on that diagram, fit an extra washer under it that has a large enough inner diameter to slide over the spacer 16.
I actually have this same problem and I was thinking of putting a stop to my laziness and using some of that cushion pad around the back of the speedo/tach and around the case too. The sticky cushion pad that most people put on their battery cases to stop the battery from banging around. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow and post pics if it works good.
