Heres the question ladies and gents. What is it you use for your daily transportation ( primary), and what are short term goals, to upgrade ( if you desired). Ill begin.
Since DMV med. suspended my DL, i use a goped GTR42, ( 4.2hp @15k) on a 42lb frame wet. disc brakes help ALOT lol. parked the motohuffy, cause of leg issues. hope to resolve, come summer. anyhoo, goals, to pull the cylinder/head from this engine, and put a 46 or larger cyl/piston/head on it, along with pipe. and go from 35 to 45-50 ( @ absolute most) and mount a small bullet cam underneath its dec 4" above tarmac. ultimate goal is to get DL reinstated and finish the rx7. but thats foolish to build a car i cannot drive legally. anyhoo enough of my long winded talklol. what do you all rely on daily, and what do you hope to have in its place @ a future point?

damn weedahoe. loving that ram., and cods, the front end of that car resembles a thunderchicken. but the maker eludes me. damn me likey
I didn't not see it until you mentioned it but it does look like a thunderbird LoL
Primary transportation? '91 GS500. I have an '04 Corolla but it's not reliable and on more than one occasion something's gone wrong when I've needed to be a long ways away in a short time.
I'm still trying to pinpoint engine rattle in the GS that's been going for well over a thousand miles. There are a few posts on the forum about what seems to be the same noise, but no solutions. I don't believe it's getting worse, but peace of mind is nice when you're regularly ~450 miles from home with it. After that, either lower pegs (I'm 6'6"...) or a decent windscreen to quiet it down a bit.
My Primary transportation could just about fit underneath Weedahoe's.

The plan is to keep getting quicker on the racetrack and always be able to drive it home.
Right now my transportation is all on the gs500.
Goal... A bandit or a triumph triple, eventually. Oh, and a big truck for lugging parts around.

good engine there mate. once i scrounge up hte parts to convert the 42cc to a 46 or larger , speed run here i come lol. there is peace of mind when you have dependable transportation. i dontliek to dwell on future plans much, cause it CAN be depressing. BUT, goals also help out. BTW those in cages, if you want to screw with a cop or 20 , wear a shirt and tie while driving. stick a piece of coat hanger wire INSIDE tie, and put it over shoulder, it will hang straight back perpendicular to back. ( will point to back of vehicle. ) and drive past cop@ 20mph.
Primary is split even between the GS and my '91 F150 Lariat. Currently with a 2.5" lift, 31x10.50 tires, 15x10 black aluminum wheels, blacked up bumpers, custom true dual exhaust out the back, custom made clear headlight lenses, 5% tint all around, added front and rear clearance lights, cab lights on the way, etc. I'm in the process now of finding a 4x4 front end (good for another 2.5" lift), and a new rear with 3.55 gears so I can finally step this truck up to 33x12.50 BFG muds or Swampers. Tranny/Tcase will come when I blow up the current tranny. 185k miles and it's still going, I thought it was gonna take a shaZam! on me at about 170k, so I've been lucky. Torque converter doesn't like to lock up when cold :(

All of the American-spec Elises and Exiges us Toyota drivetrains. Mine is a 2004 model and originally had a Rover powertrain. I racked up 100,000km with that drivetrain but 3 years ago I decided to fit a Honda K20Aengine + 6-speed from Japan. 165kw (220hp) in an 800kg (1760lb) car makes it a lot of fun on the track and a very practical daily. I've always owned lightweight and sporty cars but other modern cars are too big heavy and boring for me hence the Lotus now sharing duties with the GS.
Ok, in the winter, my main transport is this:
I have a driver...HA!
Cause I work downtown, and parking is $9 a day in the car, $0 a day on the GS, and $5.30 round trip on the bus. Work does NOT pay for parking.
In the summer, it's my GS.
My car, a 2002 Mazda protege (Familia for the rest of the world) is old and tired.

My primary transport is my car while Spewey is missing a leg. 2006 VE Holden Commodore, 3.6L, no mods, no changes, completely stock. Goes fine for what I need. I get alot of flak from the girls at work about it, since they're all telling me to get a Ford. I agreed that if they'd all come for a ride with me on the back of the bike, I'd consider it. Only one has taken me up on my offer. Sample my world before I sample yours. :P
And Coda, how many k's you got racked up on that 3.8 powerplant? I know of one running around back in Dubbo with over 750,000 ks on the first block (Was my parents car, sold it with 700,000 on the clock 4 years ago). And I gave it HELL when I drove it! Damn thing was indestructible!

Just a piddle under 300,000. My last one sold with just under 800,000 on the clock. Untouched and unmolested and yes I gave it hell too. :thumb:
