slipperymongoose, how much do you want for the .85's? which brand are they? Im 70kg (154lbs) without gear, so the .85's will be on the stiff side, but thats ok, I may put on weight later on ;)
There sonics and come with spacers pre cut though you may have to adjust to suit for your sag.
Lets call it $50 aud plus shipping. Where are you located and ill give you an estimate

I call foul. Well, not really. Sonics come with one long piece of spacer you cut (PVC pipe). You cut to length. Instructions come with the springs. If you need instructions, Sonic has them or I can email you a copy of the instructions that tell you how long to cut the spacers.
Cause they have been used addy that's why the spacers are pre cut. Springs have about 9000 km on them
so how much is the shipping going to be to me? located in Israel
$50 registered post to isreal. So $100aud shipped
I just have to ask, before taking you up on your offer -
How stiff is the suspension going to be for me with .85s? I am 70kg without gear (154 pounds). Sonic's website suggest .75
So again, how stiff is that spring rating going to be for me?
For me at 170, the 0.85's are great. Go for them. You'll be glad you did.
You have the advantage of adjustable for caps. You WILL need to shorten the spacers to allow for those caps because they are longer.
This shows show I cut the spacers when I switched from the stock caps to adjustable on Phenix. When I did the cutting, I had the adjustable in the middle position so I could go stiffer or softer. Your spacer below the cap may be just big washer. I had these aluminum blocks. Remember spacer suggestions are to the top of the fork for standard fork caps. You can measure them that way then cut shorter to allow for the added length of the adjustable part and whatever spacers/washers you have in there. (Clever - I took this picture knowing it would help someone in the future - when I was putting in the adjustable caps for the first time.)

You just seem to have a pic for every situation! Very cool of you! :thumb:
I do have just a big washer. But your aluminum block looks extra nice. No "bling factor" when mounted in the forks, but a hell of a lot sexier when taken apart. I might cut some aluminum to length. almost looks like there is a small depression on the aluminum block where the bolt presses on it (lower block). Is that intentional?
btw slipperymongoose, I sent you a pm

When I got my first set of fork caps, there were no washers. I didn't have any solid discs to use. These aluminum blocks were in an old set of forks I rebuilt. Apparently someone had added them in for more pre-load. It was all I had so I used it.
I bought another set of forks from the UK (yes I did!) just for the fork caps. There I saw the disc was what could have been a valve shim! I wouldn't be surprised if it was. These were OEM all the way so I know no one had been in them and replaced anything.
I think a shim would work just fine. That depression you see in those aluminum blocks is really a 1/8" hole through them.
That tool is a cheap PVC cutting tool. That's the ONLY way to cut plastic pipe for spacers. It cuts fast, clean, straight and no plastic chips all over the place. There is gray electrical PVC and white for water. I think there is a gray for hot water. Use the thicker stuff which I recall is not the white. Also I recall that white is more brittle than the gray stuff.
OH MY GOD! THIS THREAD DOESN'T HAVE A CAT!
(Fixed it!)

I didn't have a PVC pipe cutter but I had a saw block when you cut spacers they have to be straight and the same length like + or - .5mm
Your in luck my friend I went to check the springs out and saw that they ARE .80 kg/mm springs so your getting exactly what you want heres a pic of them I might send them in a tube rather than the origional box cause there is some oil stains but yeah thats what you get plus the instructions.

The PVC cutters are a cheap tool. Worth $10 for a simple, straight, precise cut. No plastic dust to contaminate things like when sawing them.
With the adjustable caps, he will need to cut the spacers so it is fine they are cut for regular caps. he will have to calculate in the added length of the caps in the middle position.
