Just slapped a 5000 mile motor in my GS500F. It runs fine, ran it 2-3 miles last night. However, I started it up this morning, let it warm up, and it started making this chirp:

It seems to be coming more from the right side but I can't really tell. It goes up with RPMs (although it's hard to hear it over the RPMs so I may be mistaking).
Sort of sounds like a loose screw rattling against something.
It does, but I've read people saying their cams were chirping similarly? I'd say it was the PAIR system/valves but it's louder on the right side...
You check the valve clearances? :dunno_black:
Ill check the valve clearance but I need a new valve cover gasket in that case.
Valve cover gasket does not always need replacing.
Put in new plugs, some Lucas injector cleaner (felt like some of the jets were less than clean), lubed up all of the mounts, and ran it down the block a few times. Noise is gone for now. It could have just been an awkward harmonic being created by it running a hair rough. Either way, here's how it sounds now - still a couple rattles from elsewhere on the bike - sound normal to you guys?

Sounds like a GS to me
