Title: GS500 Handlebar Holders on eBay
Post by: Casimir on January 05, 2004, 03:35:15 PM
In case anyone is interested, there are two (1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10066&item=2451592465), 2 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10066&item=2451592497)) parts described as GS-500 Handlebar holder. They look like the part from an '89, but are listed as for 90-93 and 94-95.

Are these from the European GS500? Will they fit my 2001?

If it fits, I may bid on the second one if the price stays low.

There were actually bid right at the begining by CasiCUA... I posted a message for him about these...
The top plate is the same as 89. The 2 risers are too high making the bars higher than the 89 and nearly as bad as the 90 on US bikes. They do have a more comfy angle and a bit narrower than the 90+. But in the end they wont be what you'd want. Of course if you had the risers off the 89 but boogered the top plate threads in a crash like I had... these would have worked fantastic... Which is why I bought them, BTW my repair is holding quite well so These are lying around waiting their turn... which is just perfect... cos the damn 89 parts might as well be made of gold.... And BTW you still need the 2 bars themselves... which need to be made and they have those funky little 1/2 circle shaped trenches for the bolts to go through.
Cool.
Srinath.
