Title: Awesome Headlight
Post by: jacob92icu on February 17, 2013, 12:42:07 AM
Anyone else curious if this headlight would be able to sexify (make look nice for those old folk... Adidasguy...) our gs500's?

This would look like an r1 almost!

Not DOT approved. Cant say it would give off the best light. To me it is a little tacky.

Hey if you like it, get it. But to me it looks cheap and sounds cheap. A plastic headlight that is strapped to your bike by only 4 rubber straps is not screaming quality to me.

It does have its points ... But from the look of the desc I think it may be intended to kinda retrofit onto a dirt only bike if the rider wanted some lighting for late home trips...

The reflector size and what I can see of the globes would not fill me with joy over the potential light output ... They are styled after the newer lens projector lights ... But lack the lens it looks like ... My totally amateur guess would be some light out to 10 metres ish .. And maybe some reflector action after that ... But little long range penetration?

But like many others have said over time ... Each to their own  :thumb:

Lol yea I know. I just thought that it is a pretty unique looking light that I would be interested in if I was in the market. Just window shopping I guess. And from the looks of it it has brackets on the back that could be mounted with some hardware. I feel like the rubber straps are more of a plan B.

light two matches, and hold them in front of a mirror. that's the ebay lights' output.

look into a used fairing and hacking it up, then HID'ing it. you'll have better light and wind protection, not to mention  parts availability ;-)

Enough said about a headlight plastic POS held on with rubber straps and headlight lamps that are really brake light tail lamps (look closely!)

We do not allow crap in the West Seattle Bike Cave.

NOT ADIDASGUY APPROVED

My 94 had one when I bought it from the PO. I took it off. He also had put very nice LED bulbs in it and it lit up everything in front fairly well

I'd think about putting one on my GS. But I'd be chopping the lights out of it and putting HID projectors in instead. My buddy bought the one you linked, but in carbon fiber finish... 10 feet of light would have been good, it only lit up the tire and like 1 line on the road ahead. Pile of garbage lights!

I've never heard anything but horrible reviews of those lights. POS.

It's not that I didnt like it or the light output, I took it off because I was going to make my E an F but then later sold the bike

I sold it to someone here a long time ago. I did a full HID retrofit on mine a few months back
