For missing or loose bolts/screws
I went on a group ride yesterday but before I went, I checked over the bike really good. Normally I do this when I change oil but do you know what I found? Two loose screws on my handle bars and two screws missing from the fork brace to the fork tubes (1 on each side). Thankfully I keep spare parts but please do a good look over on your bike and tighten everything up. Don't be scared to use a drop (or two) of blue loc-tite
Carry a heap of zip ties in your tool pouch too.
Found some loose and missing bolts in tail fairing the other week! .... Lucky I had my 'big can o bodgy bolts' handy!!
I found my sump plug a little loose when I serviced it the other day :icon_eek:
Bolts? What bolts? :icon_twisted:

good call. quite a few folks assume all is well before each ride, when it is not.
it's a good idea to do a couple of tight lock-to-lock circles, and full on front/rear brake tests too. only takes a minute, and helps orient the rider.
blue loctite is my best friend. zip ties are trying hard to unseat it though. ohhhh, pun !

Now there is something I need to put one together RSN..
I am really bad about preventive maint sometimes. I was looking at my bike yesterday and could not remember when the last time I even checked the tire pressure was. Need to change my ways before I get bit!
Knew a guy once that kept his internal combustion engines running on Taco Bell straws.
Gave him a heap of McDonald's straws once...and he said that Taco Bell Straws keep 'em going longer. :cookoo:

Now how the heck are you going to run on Mc D straws, everyone knows that TacoBell straws are the only ones that work right. And you are calling him crazy? :cookoo:
BTW I heard those Burger King "Kingpipe" straws had to be pulled from the market because they were to dangerous on the street..
The 64-ounce chugga-mugga-hugga straws at 7-11 are the bomb diggety in my experience.

It is always a good thing to check the pressure regularly. One thing I have noticed with the GS compared to my other bike is that tyre pressure makes a BIG difference in handling. Even 5 PSI makes it handle different. Must be the skinnier tyres. :dunno_black:
yeah it really does. my bike's name is squid cuz when i bought it, the tires were 10 psi low. so it was "squishy" when you rode it or they were just making fun of me. :dunno_black:
I took your advice and went to check my bike.
Suzi is still parked outside right where I left her. :thumb:

You mean that lady from down the street hasn't come down there and trashed it yet ;)
Down the "alley" you mean.
:2guns: Security cameras will take her to jail if she does anything. :police:
I heard she likes to torture and castrate cats too! :dunno_black:
