Title: WTB: full aftermarket exhaust
Post by: tcoffin014 on March 03, 2013, 05:28:19 PM
Title says it. Looking for the cheapest I can find. Just trying to do some maintenance the previous owner didn't do and I'll be rejetting my carbs soon, so trying to get exhaust before then. Let me know what you have

Sorry I forgot to specify aftermarket exhaust. Unless you're talking about aftermarket exhaust, then let me know what kind

Ive never seen or cell seeing a full exh come up for sale here. Slips ons are avail from time to time. I had two Yoshi slip ons some times back and sold them. Something like that might be your best bet so who knows.

Hmm alright. I guess gs500 people like their exhausts too much. I've been on the subaru forums for years and there is always exhaust for sale on there lol

Seems like most people here are still running stock exhausts from all the pictures I see

Lots of us have after market exhausts. Just when we put them on, we don't want to get rid of them. Hence there aren't any to be had. I claim 2 Jardine's, a V&H and a Motad. Not gonna get rid of them. They all sound good.
With $250-$500 cost, we don't buy extras just to play with and then have the unused ones to sell.
They do show up on ebay. You have to be vigilant. I got a full Jardine for $150. Motad is only new and very pricey (I did a video on it). It meets all UK and European noise levels so should be good for you.
Jardine and V&H are all noisier. You need the Jardine quiet insert to make them tolerable and even that is pretty loud.

Hence why I said most people on here, not all

That's a steal for that exhaust.

Do you have the center stand bracket that mounts to the center stand bolt? Here's a photo showing it. Whomever buys it should have that or make one.

I took my center stand off when the exhaust went on. Well the shop that rebuilt my bike did. I don't remember if it came with a bracket like that. Pretty sure it didn't. But I will look at my original build thread and see if it is in the package.

I have a H&H. It came with the bracket. Instructions were not very clear as to what it was for. I'm sure many people toss it not knowing what it is for. I think centuryghost and I put on the exhaust then wondered what that piece was for - then had to drop the exhaust to get it on. Exhaust is in the way of the center stand bolt.
