Post by: wayne242 on March 08, 2013, 06:39:56 PM
Its not funny, but it kind of is. "nope don't want to go there, not going there, I don't want to go there!" boom :o

He was looking at the guard rail. Your bike goes where you look.

yup. and that drop off. :O we had a member here, tbh i cannot remember his name( i think it was 7 years ago give or take a couple, he did this. and had it on tape. i rode my sportster to the dragon, i damn near went over at the overlook. ( guaranteed fatal. ) its one of those things. if the scenery is beautiful , who cares, dont look. if you must, then park. and get off of bike and go look

"Don't look" Easier said than done. It is natural instinct to look at the danger in front of us. An urge only "bum in seat" can cure.

Target Fixation will bite you when you least expect it.

I think equally at fault was rider stomping his rear brake and locking up the rear wheel. I'd bet he could have squeezed a bit more into the front brake, considering he wasn't leaned over when he first hit the brakes. Target fixation just finished him off.
