Noticed an oil leak on the left side of the oil pan, and traced it back to under the clutch cover. Possibly the oil seal behind this push-rod? Anybody know what went wrong and how big of a job fixing it would be?

Put some grease on the counter shaft splines, if they corrode away, the clutch push rod leak is the least of your worries, or...take some of that leaking oil and smear it on the counter shaft splines.....sorry I had too :cheers:
#21 is your leaking seal, looks like #22 is an external retainer?? Could be an easy job??

Same boat as you chief, except i've already got the seal. Keep putting off doing it because it's not a huge leak and i'm partly convinced it's just collected chain lube. Regardless, I've got the seal so I may as well do it. It's apparently not hard, but it's highly recommended that you use a seal puller tool so you don't score the metal.

Well that's massively relieving. Is it gonna require draining the engine oil?
Of all the times I've put that clutch push rod thru the seal I only had a leaker once. I was in a hurry and pushed it in on a bit of an angle and it rolled the lip of the seal over and caused the leak. After stopping uptown and seeing the little puddle of oil I went back home and cleaned it up and put it in right. Never leaked again.

same jack. cept i caught my mistake. before heading out. to the OP its an easy fix. drain the oil, might as well. ( time it with an oil change ;). stop by local partshaus, and get some nitrile/latex gloves. trust me it helps
Dang, I guess it must be leaking from when the pushrod slipped out and I put it back in crooked.
