I bought my bike last year from a experienced track racer, who bought the '08 GS500F from the US from an auction, so he says. My bike's odometer is currently reading ~2500. My question is is that in Miles or Kilometers? Coming from Canada I'm accustomed to seeing km over miles on streets and in vehicles.(Not saying I don't or can't read it)
Just curious to know, and the help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
If its from the us it's in miles.
If it only has KMS/hr it is in KMS. If it has both KMS/hr and MPH it is in Miles.
Here is Aussie speedo that reads speed in km/h and odometers that read in kilometers.

Here is US speedo that reads speed in mph in large upper numbers and km/h in smaller lower numbers. Odometers read in miles. My 97 and 02 were like that and so are our cars.

Edit:
From bikepics.com a 04 GS500F pic from Canada, same as Australia above and also found bikepics.com pics from Poland and Brazil that are the same.

Seems there are only 2 types, US vs the rest of the world. :icon_lol: SOS
jack is right. There is a label that tells you what it is. All US bikes have both. Canadian are labeled for km. here in Seattle, I bought a GS500 1992 originally from Canada. It is only km. All my other bikes have both.
years ago on my 3rd gs. i bought a metric speedo. i cannibalised it for its face. it was the only way that bike would ever see 200 lol
