Well I got the dumba$& of the day award on Saturday. I took the 07 out because temps hit 50 in Akron. Swapped out my damaged muffler for an 09 stock that i found on ebay for $130 so I was feeling really good. I was cleaning up my garage and my bike was leaning right next to me. I had a ladder out that I wanted to put on top of the rafters and so I threw it up just like normal...only this time it hit a stud, came flying back, I ducked out of the way and when the dust settled I saw this... If you can see the picture I now have a 3 inch crater on top of my tank BUT only a slight scratch because of the rubber foot on the ladder. After doing a little research I ordered the "Dent out Cross Bar Ding repair" kit from amazon because it had the best reviews for $35. I'm going to give it a try unless I can find a steal like my muffler on ebay but it was from a partout dealer right across town.

Damn...At least it didn't hit you. Then there'd be some real damage.
It looks like it may be able to be popped out...but I am not a body damage expert.
Yep, it can be popped out- no paint required. Looks like it may have some creases though, so it might not pop out smooth- but you never know. The ripples once popped out may be so minor you can't tell. I posted my technique in the other tank dent thread you visited. Take a look and see if that works for you. :thumb:
It wont pop out smooth, 2 creases that cross will make sure of it. but it will look better then that afterwords.

Unlucky, you won't throw that ladder up again... Anyways it adds character, leave it... Always the story to tell.
