Title: Body Filler for ABS Motorcycle Fairings
Post by: Zethioth on March 12, 2013, 11:34:59 AM
I know some people just use regular body filler without many issues, but I was curious as to if there
is a product made exactly for ABS plastics.

I am doing some body work on my fairings. I know there is PlastiFix and other Plastic products, but
a body shop told me before there out products just like body fillers out there.

There is flexible hardeners for 2-part fillers that ive used on car plastics like bumpers. Then ive also used JB Weld on plastics as a body filler also. Normal hardener doesnt allow flexing which is why some cars that have had too much on them lose the fix or it cracks when hit or flexed. Just my lil tid bit from going to school for body work. Both should work from my experience.

I dont mind using quality body fillers on small things after i plastic weld them. But i have a professional plastic welder. With that being said, another alternative is to take a glass jar, fill it with MEK and add ABS plastic and let it desolve. Then use it to fill cracks or even build up in areas. I use it on custom jobs i have.
