I remember the thread but can't find it or who it was.
Someone speak up!
I bought one but never posted about it :flipoff:
I can't post on every topic. :technical:
After watching many videos and reviews, I'm picking one up today.
Which one did you get? You like it?
I thought one of our Aussie brothers had bought one?
Its OK. Like all cheap cameras, it has rolling shutter issues with vibration.
Have to go professional camera and mounts to get rid of vibration when mounted to the bike. That would be an interesting project: anti-vibration isolation mount for a light weight camera on a bike. I suspect adding 2 pounds of mass to these little cameras (not just GP but all of them) would help with vibration.
I don't mount to the helmet.
Purchased bunch of RAM mounts, extra batteries and the monitor back. You need the monitor back to know where it is pointed.
All these small cameras are fish-eyed. I have a lens correction filter in Vegas Video that can straighten out close fish-eye things.
Got the #2 as the #3 was not out yet.
Mister and cods have them
Yes I have a GoProHD and the DriftHD 1080P
Pete gs has a new camera. Not sure what type.
Don't want to be a stalker and look to find out. :nono:
going to get my hands on one, as soon as i can. now vibes. would putting bb's in the bars take care of the vibes camerawise? i know it works for the bars themselves. youll see the vibes issue adidas points out in my dog video. as well as the sunsphere elevator. althoughthat one was just a cheap camera.
the dog dodging video. ( happened again today testriding the gtr. damn near ran the thing over lol)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBFrL9I7PRo
and the sunsphere video. damn i need a better camera

Yama, I hear milk in the handlebars works for vibes. :dunno_black:
I use dehydrated water myself.
Cod, i think it was you i was thinking about.
I picked up a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition today with almost every accessory there is. The previous owner said he used it once for his car and that was it. He had all kinds of mounts including suction cups. He had the wireless wifi remote and LCD touch/viewing screen. He even had a brand new extra battery. He had all the cables including a Rocket Fish micro HDMI for big screen playback. Its really nice. I will have to make a video or two and see how well it comes out.

thought it was air run through a vaccuum pump :flipoff: :whisper: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: . i know hte bb's worked in vibrations in handlebars, but not sure how it would affect a camera mounted to them.
You lucky bastard weed
^^^ LOL....Found him on CL. Had to travel 1.5hr to get it. Well worth it. Got it pretty cheap too.
I hate you just so you know hey lol. I want a couple of hero/hero 2's and a black for my helmet or a drift ghost
I was going to buy a Drift actually. I think they are nice also
mmmmm drift ghost!!! (http://images.wikia.com/simpsons/images/b/b4/Homer_drool.jpg)
GoPro has better picture than Drift but drift is better looking and easier to mount
drift would fit UNDER the goped deck. and be 6" give or take off the tarmac
I had a Sony action cam which I loved up right up to the point that it continuously fogged which pissed me off no end. It had all its own mounting hardware and could use go pro mounting hardware too which I liked. Check out the two vids I did, the footage hasn't been touched up at all. The nighttime performance is outstanding, Sony always do it well. As they would cause they did that x ray night vision camera.
IMO the sony was shaZam! :nono:
Jealous
Of what? Not you or the sony :icon_rolleyes:
Course the Sony I think you felt threatened by it. Left field out of the blue. Can't argue with the side by sides on YouTube
:bs: :bs: :bs:
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Gopro 2 here. Love it, but it does have its downfalls. The new gopro3 black edition is much better than the 2.
The lcd backpack(small screen that attaches to the back) is really crucial for setting up shots when filming other people, but it drains the battery and is useless if being run as a helmet/POV cam.
I run the gopro on the mopeds, motos, snowboarding, fishing, playing in the river, cliff jumps, dale gribbling groundhogs out of my shed.. anything with close up action is fun to get clips of with the gopro. Make sure you get the top notch sd card, write speed is what kill high res video quality and smoothness. I run mine on 720 and 60fps for best video quality recording on my extreme sd card (http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-Class-Memory-SDSDX-016G-X46/dp/B0037FLUYU). I will be upgrading to the extreme pro cards (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LFT3MA/) soon because i feel i can get a bit more quality out of it with over double the write speen(45-95mb/s)
Here's a short test vid i did a while back. Its on the drz with a helmet mount.
Since that edit, i've upgraded mine a bit with an external mic (http://www.polarprofilters.com/shop/gopro-microphone-professional/) and snake rivers blurfix (http://snakeriverprototyping.com/shop%20blurfix.html). The blurfix is great and made for underwater focus correction. I use it mainly to have the ability to run different filters, in my quiver i have; clear uv, polarizing, and a neutral density filter.
Man your into it sleezin
I bought a Drift Ghost recently, uploaded this video for another forum I visit and talked a bit:
Wow great stuff man do u vlog often?

I might start doing more the more I ride. I always have the camera running while riding so if I find something to talk about I will. This video was unlisted because it was mainly a test and I was only planning on sharing with a few forums.

I'm using the mic you get from the Drift site. Had $100 in free accessories to buy so I picked one up. It's tucked behind my cheekpad and I took the wind barrier off of it.
Yep ... Definitely a drift ghost!! ... Is is invented by this dude?
Yeah, I'm going to look for a mic. The adapter for the mic for Gopro is extra and $20+ for adapter that converts mini USB to 3.5mm so I ordered a generic piece for $3. Hope it works. If not, $3 isn't much
@ Weed check my post above for a link to the mic i'm running. It does not require any adapter and is self support off the mic jack.
I must have missed it or dont see it. Can you report it please.
The GoPro does have a standard mic jack. It has a mini USB port so GoPro tries to make it proprietary so you have to buy their adapter
No worries, let me know if the links aren't working for ya

I'll take of photo of my setup when I get a chance. I do a lot of snowboarding and freebording(snowboard on asphalt) Its too risky to run my dslr as a follow cam so i've invested a good bit into the gopro
need to get my hands on a better camera i strap the cheap cobra 720 to my leg, and film, but want to egt a bullet style camera, and mount under the gopeds deck.
picked up one of these cheapies..surprisingly works well.

Steezin, do you have another mic you are using in your lid? I dont want an external mic
Sorry misunderstood ya on this weed.. Nah i don't run a mic in helmet. Most of the stuff i'm recording is follow cams, and don't require a speaking mic.
Photo from my mini rig to get some commuting footage;

I'll post footage soon. Rides to work are straight shot, but rides home i get to do a bit of exploring
My DriftHD came in yesterday.
Wasn't planning on buying one. Reason why I did is a long story.
Short version:
Two years ago my wife (along with a few of my friends, parents,...) bought me an amazing gift for my 30th birthday:
4 laps behind the wheel of fantastic cars on the old Nürburgring (Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche GT3, Audi R8LM).
Cost a pretty penny, but everyone chipped in. I was over the moon!
Turned out it was all too good to be true... The company who sold the package didn't organise the ride: they only gave you a voucher for another company.
That company only had two or three dates available in a whole year, with a limited amount of driving slots.
Actually getting a spot in the cars seemed almost impossible.
Lately, online complaints from unsatisfied customers was growing and growing (I've been waiting for 2+ years, the queue has only gotten longer and longer) and a few months ago the inevitable happened: the mismanaged company in Germany went bankrupt. :(
Leaving me with a voucher. :2guns:
Lots of mails with the original company, who sold me the voucher gave me a small result:
I couldn't get my money back, but they could give me the chance to buy something else from their website.
Enter the DriftHD.
Like I said: wasn't planning on buying a sportscam, but having one sure beats being left empty handed after the racecar-catastrophe. 8)
Well I did buy a mic. Can't use it because I took my bike completely apart for paint and parts change outs. I'll have it back together soon though and then I will do some vids.
nice! what mic did you go with?
Same Sony one you have actually. I bought the chinese copy off ebay after seeing several reviews on it. It came with a small extension cable I will use to route into the helmet. I havent decided how to mount it yet. Likely with some velcro.
