i saw a bunch of videos on it being done on cars at home.
i don't think it would work on a gas tank because the metal is probably quite thick.
just wondering if anyone had attempted it. something about using a hot air gun on a gas tank just doesn't seem right. :)
The metal is actually quite thin!
Many have tried that technique and failed, and many have tried that technique and have been successful. Ever heard of the hot glue trick?
yeah i'm going to try that I think after i go visit the local paintless dent repair. if they can't do it for a decent price, i'm going to try the hot glue trick.
PDR is usually pretty cheap
If you do it, take before and after pics to share

Good call!
There was a video on youtube i watched one night when bored. The guy took a compressed air can (like you clean keyboards etc with) and turned it upside down, sprayed dent out side in the sun and some of the dent actually popped out. No clue if it would really worked, but probably can find it on youtube.
The compressed air trick usually works best on shallow dents like hail damage. Anything more substantial will most likely require other methods.
I have seen compressed air used to pressurise the tank and it blew apart at the seams.
Tried heat with dry ice to pop dents out with no luck.
