Title: cleaning the motor
Post by: bibik on January 08, 2004, 05:11:45 PM
Is it safe to wash the bike after aride when the motor is full hot?I mean is there a chance to crack the hot  cylinderhead or something else with the cold steam of the water hose?

it's not recomended....you shouldn't wash a hot engine with cold water but you can wash it with hot or warm water...just get some degreeser or that "gunk" engine cleaner and spray it on a warm engine and wash with warm water

Anyone know a good way to keep little rocks and gravel from building up between the engine fins right above the exhaust headers?
I've got a black engine... I guess I don't have to worry much about dirt, but I wish the previous owners would have found a way to keep the paint from spotting  :dunno:
