Title: WTB parts to fix up my GS500
Post by: Arudinne on March 21, 2013, 02:22:40 PM
Hi everyone,

I joined this site at the recommendation of my friend to get some parts I need to fix up / upgrade a 2001 GS500 project bike I have. I have bought a 93 engine to replace the one the bike came with as that engine had a grenaded Piston

I'd like to upgrade the wiring to the newer year bikes (I believe 06 was recommended to me), since the main harness needs to be replaced, so I believe I need 04/06+ year models of the following parts:

Carbs + boots
Wiring Harness (2006 preferred, looking to update the wiring if I can)
Ignititon control module?
Starter Relay
Right + left controls
Throttle and clutch cables
Gauge clusters + cables or wiring to install them.
Front brake system
Rear brake system - I think

Please PM offers with shipping to 78753, I can PM you my cell or e-mail if you would like.

Thanks

I have most parts.

However, check Pinwall on ebay. I get LOTS of stuff from them. They have good prices and show exactly what you get.
Their prices are good and they combine shipping. You can search for GS500 then include (06,07,08,09) in the search. I, too, prefer 2006+ wiring and parts for all my projects.

If ICU's are expensive, I have a box of them. I have a few sets of carbs, too.
Most other parts from them should be pretty reasonable.

Aye, 1/4 (Down from 1/2 due to organization) of my garage is GS frames and GS accessories.
