So, I've been having some oil leaking from under the chain case and clutch group. I took the cover off and this is what I saw:

I don't have a manual (I know, the motorcycle gods will be here shortly to zap me with a bolt of lighting!) so I did not know what that rod and oring is but it's obviously something to do with the transmission. I cleaned everything up using wd40 as a degreaser and shoved that rubber oring back to where I assume it is meant to be. The oring is split completely in one place and I am sure thats not good. Anywho, this is the result:

My question is, is that rod supposed to just slide out without any friction or anything? And is that hole that the oring plugs an area where oil can leak out? Thanks for looking fellas!
I don't have a manual either for mine, can find anything on the web free. Looks to me it blew out a seal, but I'll leave it to adidas or some one who as pulled these things apart quite a bit.
Eeeerrrrr....you sure that's not just chain lube? :dunno_black:
That's the clutch push rod and there is some oil inside there but your problem could just be the accumulated chain lube inside the housing. Started running out and down the shift lever and dripping on the toe of my boot some time back. Just cleaned it out inside the housing and it stopped leaking for a long while, I'm a bit heavy with the chain lube spray too. :icon_lol:
Degrease it all with some kerosene, a toothbrush and some rags, put the sprocket cover back on. Ride it for a week or so and re-check.

Ya, I had the same initial thoughts as you guys, but I checked yesterday and I had to add a whole quart of oil. I ride whenever I get the chance too and I check the oil frequently. The oil is dripping all over my boot as well haha. I think you guys are right and cleaning it all up should stop the "leak" for a while. Thanks I'll report back when I find anything out.
Looks like clutch push rod seal. I believe I have one. Not home today or I'd check. Should be one,. Someone needed one so I ordered 2 of them. Cheap part, anyway.

I was suggesting to clean it up so you can find out if it is your o ring or if it is just chain lube. If you clean it all up and it stops leaking after about a week, it means it was lube. If it keeps leaking then it has to be the o ring. Goodluck with it.
