I have a 00 GS500E. My understanding is that all exhausts from all GS fit all GS. right adidasguy?
as you can see, it's held up with wire http://i.imgur.com/oskObh.jpg?1
not my handy work but it's an eye sore and i want to get rid of that.
I think it's the original exhaust? but i think it's just mounted incorrectly and rather dangerously.
I figured instead of buying a new exhaust, i'd try to salvage this one somehow. I figured with the right mounts and a bit of elbow grease, i can get it back in place and some frame paint could make it look a lot better.
any advice is appreciated.

parts 4-8, but the bolts and washers you could get really cheap from a hardware store.
heres a pic to help you get it the way it should be

any thoughts on the exhaust? looking at yours. it does look stock to me. i'm heading out for a ride in chicago now. i'll take some pics and post it later.
thanks very much for the pic and the parts site.
I have the parts.
I'm out shopping in NYC for adidas stuff so can't sell anything until I get back home Monday (yes, it is a short trip) There are only 2 adidas stores in Manhattan. 136 Wooster Street and corner of Broadway and Houston.

I can wait till you return. Check your PM for an address and let me know where to paypal you. take a look at my bike, anything else you see that i need that you have? :)
btw. i've got a skidmarx headlight fairing coming to me in the not too distant future :)
exhaust is stock, but the hanger on the exhaust should be behind the peg bracket, not in front like yours is. i live just south of chicago, if you ever need help with stuff let me know!

no prob man, especially when you need to do the valve shims. I got all the tools and a shim kit to do it, did mine last summer.
NO NO NO! Exhaust hanger is in FRONT of the passenger peg!
See it here on the left side of the photo.

just snapped a photo from a better angle, mine is definitely behind, and my passenger pegs have never been off the bike (by me at least). The link to the photo in my previous post looks like it's behind too (not a photo of my bike), are you positive yours is in front? I had to go out to the garage and check lol.
I think you are both trying to say the same thing... It's in front and behind lol.
It's in front of the peg by being towards the front of the bike. It's behind by being to the backside of the peg.
