Title: Slow boats out of the US?
Post by: Kiwingenuity on March 25, 2013, 06:01:59 PM
Has anyone purchased one of the Zero Gravity windscreens lately? I ordered one through the ZG nominated supplier (AMC Corp in Ozzieland) on the 17th of January and the item still hasn't been shipped from the factory yet...

Winter is a coming this side of the world, so I figured demand must be low for windscreens over in the US of A at present.. We have been exceptionally luck to have a drought here.. so we will be in for a wet winter..

Anyone have an idea of the delay in regular production runs from Zero G?

Cheers

Here in the USA, the United States Postal Service stopped shipping via ground overseas.  All airmail.

Now, if this originates in another countrybound for the USA, that could be a different story (China for instance).

I know cause I asked the lady at the main Cincinnati PO, and she said she was part of the team that closed down the ship operations.

Cheers for the comment - I have just flicked a query through to ZG to see if they are expecting any shipping delays.

Have been so lucky this summer (although not good for our farming) - the last 2 months it has rained only one day...

That being said, winter before last was 5 months of rain almost every day..

So my screen just showed up - 3 days from Oz - AMC were pretty quick at turn around.

Will fit it at lunchtime - am hoping it makes a difference with riding in the rain..

Now I just have to find some good handlebar risers for the long trips. Anyone recommend a brand? need to lift up and back about an inch if possible.

A number of people, including myself, have found the Aussie distributor to be quite slow. I assume the order in batches, possibly on a once a month (more or less) basis. I ordered a screen from them last year which took over a month to turn up. A friend ordered a screen which took more than 3 months. When I ordered a ZG screen from their own eBay seconds store it arrived in a week.

Too bad ZG won't allow Australian orders from their main site.

Yeah - I think AMC do batches - ZG told me that they had a run going there. I ordered mine in January.. Pity I couldnt order direct from NZ.

Anyhow, got it swapped over - think it looks a lot better - am hoping it makes a difference
