Title: Fu$!ing rounded bolts...Help!
Post by: m_melen on March 29, 2013, 07:01:50 PM
Hey all, tried to remove my front wheel fender but 2 of the little Allen head bolts rounded off and now I can't get them off. Tried vice grips, but they're such low profile bolts I couldn't get em off. Anybody ran across this?

I did this. Cut a groove into them with a mini grinder or dremel or hacksaw carefully then use a screwdriver :thumb:

Tapion it to break the crusty stuff that's holding it in.
I once heated the fork to expand the hole and free the bolt.
Seafoam Deep Creep I prefer. It is like PB Blaster but won't catch on fire.

I'd hit it with a torch but I don't have one available here. I tapped the sh!t out of it and hit it with PB blaster, but to no avail.
