I have, although the bike in question was not a GS5 and the seats were definitely not a`hammer fit` :D

I have had a valve replaced by a machinist after he determined the problem was not the seat.

Done this loads of times on old beetles to allow for unleaded fuel. Fairly standard procedure at the time.

Any idea of the cost for this? I had a spare head but didn't know that it could be salvaged by replacing the seats.
