I'm considering installing the Givi 526F rear mount on my '07 and a Givi monokey box in the 45-48L range. Givi's quoted weight capacity is 15lbs on the mount and 22lbs on the box. Has anyone actually put ~12-15lbs in a topbox with the Givi mount and how was it? Acceptable stability at speed? no significant oscillation of the box? any issues with the mount loosening over time etc.?
Thanks,
Jon.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately it doesn't answer the key question. That of how well the rear mount handles 15lbs+. The Givi monolock series are only rated at 9.5lbs or so. The monokeys are good for 22lbs. Trying to get real world opinions on how it holds up with the heavier weight.

You can load a V46 Top Box
full of beer, other than making the bike top heavy you are good to go. No I don't have any experience with the Givi racks on a GS500, but I can guarantee you they are
underrated for load :thumb:

I've got that mount with a givi e55 case. The rack is definitely solid. I've loaded more than 15 lbs in it while having the wife lean on it for support when she was a passenger with no issues. Easy to mount rack you'll be happy with it.

Do you have a Pic with the e55 case on the bike? Mainly want to see how wide the case is compare to the bike when mounted.

Thanks gsjack :)
+1 lol. :thumb:
The box is big - it easily holds my helmet (large) and the wifes (small) at the same time. But I've gotten used to the size. Here's a side shot:

OH, and if you decide to get the e55, don't bother getting the version with the remote - remote stopped working after a couple of weeks. Nice feature - if it worked. You can get the optional tail lights - those work well. Also there's a company called Admore then sells a better light kit for the case than Givi does.
