anyone use them? I was behind a bike on some rides that has it built in (BMW I think). It does make you take notice.
I saw this one for sale:
http://signaldynamics.com/index.php/products/led-lighting?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=40&category_id=41&vmcchk=1
My MV had them and ripped them out after about a million people complaned about them.
I use that same one, BackOff XP. It has different patterns depending on how you wire it. Smaller than a deck of cards.
Was that because they were too noticeable?
You know, that sexy chicken pole dancer is just too cool to watch.
I quess they found them a bit distracting. Some were confused to if I was trying to signal a lane change.
But it's a saftey issue so it should be about what's in your best intrest not there's. but I got tired of hearing about it so I took them off.
If you were behind someone and they didn't bother you and you thought they were helpful then do it.
Some blink the turn signals and the brake light. I'm going for just the brake light.
Did yours do both?
the BMW I was behind did everything and looked like a farkling disco. I often tap the brake a couple times when there is traffic behind me so maybe just the brake will be good and not too distracting.
It is coming up to Suzi's birthday and Phenix's birthday is this month. I have to buy them presents so they continue to give me good rides.
It was a year ago that Phenix first took to the road after being assembled from all my spare parts.
Mine is set to flash tail light only. Five flashes in three seconds then solid until you release the brakes and reapply the brakes.

I'm thinking that would be good - enough to get cager's attention but not too much to be annoying.
I'm not in favor of flashing the turn signals - I agree that it would be confusing so anyone behind me.
Ordered 3 of them. (Junior hates to be left out when it comes to getting presents.)
Mine was just the break light. Not sure whats so confusing about that but people are dumb. When amber light blinks Im turning when the red one flashes Im slowing and/or stopping. :cookoo:

Same. Ordered direct from company. $1.50 cheaper.

Some of those also flash the blinkers. The BMW did and looked like a disco or xmas tree. I'm going just for the brake light. Video will come as I install it.
I have a Hyper-Lite S16 Kit (http://hyperlites.com) on my GSX650F and Burgman. I have led group rides all over the state and nobody has ever been annoyed from riding behind me, more like "where did you get them from?"

Went on a ride with a friend of mine hat had a Honda Sabre cruiser. It had a module that blinked when you stopped. And he had a headlight module that blinked when you rode from the front. Rear was not annoying, but the front headlight was.

I have Kisan PathBlazer headlight modulator on my V-Strom. Whenever I used it people thought I was a LEO...they would ether slow down to or below the speed limit or pull over and let me by, either way it was more of a hassle than anything, I rarely turn them on anymore.
Be sure to test the config before buttoning it all up. Mine had the colored wires mislabeled - functions were switched according to wire color. Wired up another color and has been working fine on two different bikes now.
Had one on my nighthawk, it was a chinese ebay knockoff back off brake light. Cool thing was it flashed SOS in morse code.
I have the Back Off module (not the XP- the original one) installed on my GS. I saw a police bike that had one installed and immediately went and ordered one. They definitely get your attention and it makes me feel safer at a stop light.
I'll wait for the video.

Have a video of it?

Plenty here http://hyperlites.com/videos.html (http://hyperlites.com/videos.html)
I tried to make a video a while back but nothing does them justice, as seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpANENPHWU0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpANENPHWU0)
This vid makes them look like WeakSauze http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zehnleOVaA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zehnleOVaA)
WeakSauze again... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myA99ql50QE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myA99ql50QE)
More WeakSauze... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5s3WUBmFeg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5s3WUBmFeg)
Getting a video that doesn't make them look too bright are too lame is hard. I have bought a number of sets of Hyper-Lites, and I will probably buy more :thumb:
I have a few small code 3 LED emergency lights sitting on the self i may convert to this, they are around the same size. Tons of different flash patterns to choose from also. I'm even thinking about making my headlight flash, sick of these people pulling out in front of me every morning on the way to work
I would check your local laws to see if you can have them at all. I know the flashing light to the front is illegal in Minnesota. And i pretty sure to the rear is also.
It only flashes a couple times - not constantly. No different that tapping your brake 3 times. Flashes a few times then goes steady on.
I use the IBF4 model from this site. Bought the combo kit a month or two after I got the bike and haven't had any issues. Straight forward installation and it seems to work as intended.
