I just picked up new jets for my bike. (40/125) The Mains are a match but the Pilots are different from the ones I pulled out. They look just like the originals except for six small holes around the body or shaft portion of the jet. Will this jet work? Will I need a different Pilot screw setting? Should I just return them and order the exact match? Thanks for your time.

PS. '99 GS500, factory air cleaner and exhaust.
40's are suppose to be thr correct pilot. I would try them.
Those small holes designate the pilot as a bleeder pilot. Most on the board recommend non-bleed pilots. I had both and I couldn't get the motorcycle to idle at all with the bleeder pilots. If I were you I would try to exchange them for non bleed types. BTW, Yamaha dealers often carry Mikuni jets if you're Suzuki dealer doesn't have them.

Yeah he is right. The bleader will not work. They cause a very rich condition. You can order non bleader 40s from www.sudco.com
Also, cheap price with fast shipping.
They say that is all they can get and have never seen any without bleed holes. It is no wonder that everyone is buying ONLINE and bypassing the dealers. I spent more going to the dealer twice than shipping would have cost. I got my GS online after the same dealer wanted way more than retail for the same bike. Thanks for the help.

We all learned the same way you have. So you are not alone.
My local dealer had a little difficulty finding the correct part number, when he looked it up by the GS500 carb diagram. The correct Suzuki part # is 09492-40014. I paid $7.50 apiece for them.
//www.bikebandit.com sells them for around $13 for a pack of 4
i didn't have problems when i was buying my jets...i just told them i need mikuni jets and they looked in a book and there were pics of about 4 differend main and pilot jets...i showed them which ones i need and they oredered them...i quess i was lucky
Depends on the dealer. A good dealer with a well-stocked and knowledgable parts staff should be able to help you. However most of us aren't that fortunate. In my case, I live close to that kind of dealer but it's a one-line only dealer and that line is Yamaha - not Suzuki ( :x )

Well this is my isolated experience based on 1 bike... 37.5 bleed pilots seems to work just like 40 non bleeds. Tired it ony once... so dont ask too many questions. And yes 40 non bleeds will be the ticket.
Cool.
