Title: Disabling Park Lamp
Post by: snOhio on April 09, 2013, 03:06:21 PM
Sooooo, guess who walked out to his bike this morning to find a completely dead battery?  :cookoo: Must have accidentally gone into the Park position instead of Lock.  Has anyone figured out how to disable the light to prevent this kind of thing from happening?

Most of us pay attention to the key position.  :dunno_black:

You would have to cut a wire from the ignition that is the running light circuit and reconnect it to the main power wire. Simple to do if you want to. Grab your wiring diagram and look at the ignition switch. There is a line out for running lights. Cut that and splice it to the main power from the switch.

Ignition switch is on the top. What Adidasguy is saying is to cut the brown wire and splice into the orange wire.

I'm actually looking into installing a tilt sensor alarm over the park circuit and I'd be doing something similar.

Or take the OEM bulb out and replace it with an LED bulb.
