Title: Bar end installation
Post by: mustangGT90210 on April 10, 2013, 07:51:05 AM
Hey guys, I just got a set of weighted bar ends yesterday, but I've got a slight issue. Where can I find the expanding rubber bushings to mount them? I was not given any hardware and only have one rigged up bar end on the bike. Got these for free, and I'd love some less vibey bars. Does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure a WTB post in the For Sale forum here would get some results. I'd help, but I do not have any of the expanding type mounts for these.

Expanding bushings are available from your dealer. You need these, a longer screw and 2 nuts: one the correct size and one too bug that us used as a spacer.

Look up a parts diagram for 2004-2009 on the HANDLEBARS page.

They're not expensive for the bushings. Used ones are often worn out.

Thank you adidas ! I've never messed with the bar ends so I didn't know where to even start looking. Looks like I'll be making a phone call or two real soon

There are some good bike breakers down there is FL. You might get some as they tear down a 2004+ Gs500.

The cheap-ass redneck version would be fuel line.  I made a set to hold my bark busters on my old xr back in the day.
