Title: Fork Mounted Aux. Lighting
Post by: Slack on April 12, 2013, 02:55:27 PM
I'm going back and forth between mounting fog lights on my lower forks (F model).  They would be just above the axle and being so close to the road surface I'm afraid that the lenses may get cracked from debris being kicked up by other vehicles.  The reason I'm worried is I had a pair of fog lights on my lowered civic that only lasted 6 months before both lenses were busted from kicked up stones, and those were expensive lights.  I just don't want to flush $ town the tube again.

Who has them?  How have they held up?  # of miles since install?  Which model?

I'm also open to suggestions and opinions on lights.  I want l.e.d. or h.i.d for low amp draw.  And I want them to actually add some light; they aren't only so cagers see me better.

You can always make some badass wire lens covers or cut plexiglass to size and use adhesive standoffs.

See my bikes. They've been on Suzi for 2.5 years and Junior for 2 years. No problems.
They have pretty tough lenses if you get good ones.
I use the fork reflector mounts for them and use Harley stick-on reflectors on the forks.
