Title: THE PIZZA THREAD (this will be bigger than a cat thread)
Post by: pliskin on April 12, 2013, 08:37:40 PM
I am a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur. It's safe to say I've eaten more pizza than anyone in the world. What is the best pizza you have ever had? I have a few favorites.

Jerry and Sal's, North Hanover Mall, Hanover PA 17331- Thin mouth watering pizza (I had it for dinner tonight...large peperoni and a large cheese) The best pizza in PA. They have 2 other locations in Hanover but the one in the mall is the best. I know employees that made the pizza there 20 years ago that still go there for the pizza.

http://www.matthewspizza.com/ (http://www.matthewspizza.com/)-Baltimore, MD. A true hole in the wall establishment. I grew up as a kid in this neighborhood in Patterson Park. It's a bad part of town now but this place is a sanctuary from the street. A pizza joint in an old row house. Get a pie to go and they serve it to you between 2 paper plates. If you go anywhere in Baltimore go here.

The Hungry Surfer- If you find yourself on the 12th st. boardwalk in Ocean City Maryland grab a slice, put some sand on it, and sit on the beach and enjoy it.

I'd also like to add another favorite dish from Ocean City MD. Go to the Crab Cake Factory 120th st. Get the Crab Benedict...it's out of this world. I'll drive 3hrs. just to get it. They also have awesome crab cakes. Everyone knows Maryland (Chesapeake) style seafood with Old Bay seasoning is the best on the planet. Especially steamed Maryland Blue Crabs.

Behold the Crab Benedict (best eaten carry-out on the beach with a screwdriver early in the morning)

If you can eat it 10 times and enjoy it and die once and not enjoy it you'll still be ahead.
I just made that up :icon_mrgreen:

Dip the chicken into hot buffalo wing sauce before adding to the pizza and you've got yourself a tasty pie.

sure ... heat it up in a microwave i guess.... but to finish it and make it 'man style authentic'

of course dont clamp your pizza in a bench vise... you should be able to get enough angle with flat on the bench!  :icon_twisted: :thumb:

ive used my jewelry torch to man up a nuked pizza. i have a small steel plate, and i put the nuked pizza on it, torched the top, then flipped it, torched the bottom. ( have a fan tip for the torch. works quite well for this. just ONE bad thing, it works GREAT, cept entire shop smells like a pizza. & makes everyone hungry  :technical: )
have one of these @ shop, as well as one @ home. cant afford a tank for the home unit @ the time. so it will sit idle until things improve. but it works great lol

Damn ugly, smelly, worthless...unless you need something to rub against your leg while you sit on the crapper pinching a loaf (and you think it's cute when it does). To top it off this little shitt gets it's own shitt all over it's azz hair every time it pinches one off. I'll be dammed if I'm gonna grab cat dingleberries and cut them off with the same scissors I clip my nose hair with.

One of my favorite cat quotes

"Cats don't exist. If you believe in cats , you are delusional.

There are no such things as cats.
We should help the people that have faith in cats , because they are delusional.

My Himalayan cat doesn't exist. I feed him with imaginary food. He doesn't exist.

OH WAIT.... dammit... my imaginary cat threw up on the imaginary carpet again."

What is wrong with you people? Chicken on pizza? Ranch on pizza? Ugh!
Here in San Diego I like Lefty's for Chicago style, stuffed crust. Gotta get it with sausage and giardinaira as they are magic with that thick, cornmeal crust. It will also magically raise your cholesterol.

When it comes to N.Y. style, I like my town's Bronx pizzaria. Their Whitestone pizza (olive oil, basil, garlic, mozzerella, parm and ricotta) is amazing.

Do you know why NY pizza is what it is? Some say it's all in the crust. They reason they have that crust is because of the city water used to make it. The flavor and texture of the crust has been attributed to the minerals present in the New York City water. There are even some pizza joints that have water shipped in from NY just to get the crust effect.

Chicago Pizza is also nice. For lack of a decent Chicago pie on the east coast.I have been forced to create a recipe for Chicago pizza that is THE BEST I've ever tasted. Again, it's in the crust. I use Pillsbury Butter Milk Biscuits in the roll. Just flatten them a little and line a round cake pan. Bake half way (7min) to get them to rise. Add a layer of meat, cheese.....whatever, layer heated sauce on top of that. Then top with cheese and more toppings and bake another 10min.  Heating the sauce ensures it's hot all the way trough without burning it because it's a pretty thick pie.

I usually make 2 at a time using about a pound of mozzarella cheese and some Parmesan, Don Pepino pizza sauce, ham, pepperoni, fried onions.

Nice, free pizza is nice. I got free pizza yesterday. Me and another dude in the office helped a lady move some stuff and she had a large Pep-and-chez delivered to us. It was not from my favorite place but for some reason this one was lick my balls good.
