Title: Fuel Tank Petcock Valve Leaking
Post by: dmoore on April 13, 2013, 06:20:34 AM
Greetings All - I have a very slight leak from the shut off valve on my tankcock. It looks like the snap clip can be removed to get in there (see pic) like on the framecock (This isn't the one from my bike just a pic from Ebay). I'm assuming there's an O-ring in there. Has anyone rebuilt one of these?
Thanks.

Why bother?
Just buy a new one from ebay?
Buy new for around $30

There's an o-ring in there, yes. Very simple to get at.

Replacing the o-ring there fixes it. I've had to do that. Cheap and easy.
Since the valve rarely gets turned, the o-ring can be hard and crapy but seal just fine until you turn it. Then it cracks and leaks.
