So I took my bike out between New Orleans and Baton Rouge yesterday, about an hour drive. I was going between 80 and 100 mph (indicated) the whole way. Bike performed flawlessly (minus massive vibration from the clip ons and a whole lot of wind) without hesitation the whole way. When I got off the highway in BR, I noticed the valves were chattering/ticking. Not horribly loudly or anything, but noticeable. I went to accelerate in first gear from a stop and as I engaged the clutch, the bike/valves stated sneezing and coughing until I got into 2nd gear and got the rpms up a bit, then it was fine until I stopped and started again. Bike revved just fine with the clutch disengaged. Anyways, it behaved like this the rest of the day. Rough starting off, fine at speed. I hopped back on it today and it was just fine starting and seemed just fine.
I guess my question is, why was my bike misbehaving after my long, hard ride :icon_lol: ? Does it have something to do with over heating?

Heat soak possibly?
I know I had a few minor starting issues after stopping for a few minutes before they got the summer grade into the tanks here.
And I assume you've checked your oil level, right?
Filled up just before I left. Didn't over fill.
