Just wondering if anyone here as experiences with these cams.
After taking mine out of the closet i found it not to be working. When i hook my computer cord to it the blue light will quickly flash once and that's it. I also get "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" message from laptop. Anyhow just wonder ever there was anyone out there that knows about these kind of things.
When I hook up mine, the blue light stays on for as long as it takes to charge the battery completely.
You could try plugging it (the usb-cable) into one of those adapters that just plugs into a wall socket.
I guess your computer shuts down the usb-port once it detects a problem.
The adapter won't do that, giving your device the change to recharge properly.
Once that's done, I'd try to reset the firmware (latest version on Drift's website).
You can just download the firmware to your mini-SD card, don't even have to hook up the camera for that.

You should work for drift, that's the best info i have got to date and i been emailing back an fourth with drift for 2 weeks. I'll give it a try once the leg stops hurting a bit.
Thanks
W79s comment is probably the best thing to try - USB ports on a PC have a charge limiting electronic "fuse" feature controlled by the OS - if the Li-whatever has got a bit low, the inrush current for charging may be too high...
A cheap Chinese wall charger with no current limiting is sometimes the easiest fix..

Yeah, I ordered a new battery this morning be for reading W79s comment and tossed my old one out(in anger). So will try it once new battery comes in. I hope the battery just went dead and is causing all the problems, but more then likely is a hardware problem with the drift itself.. If so probably no way to fix it then. Anyhow I'll update once new battery comes in with what happens.
I tried the wall charger with no battery and still nothing happened, so probably is hardware.
You jump on motovlog.com to find a solution. From what I hear drifts have a few reliability issues even the new ghost.
Lithium Ion batteries can't be charged and then left to sit for months or more as after they drain, they usually do not recover and take a charge. Most USB chargers are 500mA as are computer ports. Some of your newer cell chargers are 1A chargers now because they charge faster.
Tried all that, when i push the power button the blue light goes off. I don;t even get anything on screen when plugged to wall charger, so guess its junk. I still get message about malfunction when hooked to laptop.
Oranges and apples here... But .. I plug my iPad into a computer USB port .. It does data but doesn't really charge the battery.. Not enough grunt! ... But USB port does charge iPod! ... Smaller battery!
From what I can see the drift has a big battery ... So wall charger or 12v vehicle charger ...
As another note ... The USB vehicle plug I have has 2 ports ... One at 2.5A that says for iPad and the other at 1.0A that says Others .... So the larger iPad battery definitely needs more grunt ... It will charge on the 1.0A port ... But it takes a looooooong time...
My 2 cents :thumb:
Yeah, I left it on wall charger for 3 hours. When i went to check on it blue light was off. Its as not even tried to turn on etc. I download firmware(whatever drift calls it) and put it on sd card, then put that in drift and nothing. Still get the malfunction message from laptop when i hook drift to it and push play on drift.
So i am tossing it up on ebay for part as I'm sure its a software problem.

Yeah, even the're newest drift is full of problems. I love the design of drift, but GoPro is such a better product.. I just hate the box GoPro is in.
