Title: Help installing fuel filter!
Post by: akh223 on January 11, 2004, 11:25:40 PM
Hey all,

I picked up my bike on Friday, and the first thing I want to get done is a fuel filter installed.

Now, I went on ebay in all my infinite wisdom, and bought a fuel filter for 8 bucks (anodized aluminum, 40 micron element).  Well, it is for a 5/16" line.  I NOW know the GS uses 1/4" lines, and was wondering if anyone had a good idea as to how to get it installed, or should I just go buy a cheapie plastic 1/4" filter?

Any possibility I could replace the line from the petcock to the carbs with a 5/16" line, splice the filter inbetween, and just use some small hose clamps to make sure they stay in place?

Any ideas?

Andy
