Okay so somebody wants to trade 15 boxes of CCI Mini Mag 40gr .22LR for 400rds of reloaded 5.56 ammo. It's not "guy in his basement" reloads, it's actually from a decent company up in north GA. They're the SS109 steel core "penetrator" bullets (NOT armor piercing) in brass casings which I understand are somewhat expensive.
The cheapest 5.56 ammo I can get is $0.40 per round, and that's with an employee discount. Granted, it's factory ammo from Federal. Still, though, I can't even get it because we don't have any.
I paid $5 a box for the CCI mini-mags, so 15 boxes is $75 worth. That works out that I'm paying 18 cents a round for the 5.56 reloads.
What do you guys think about this deal? On the surface it seems like a fairly good deal. That is if I don't get screwed somehow.
Reason being is the guy is going to resell the CCI stuff at gun shows for $20 a box. He makes some money, and I get a good amount of ammo for a lot cheaper than I can anywhere else.
you have a use for the .223/5.56? or can you sell it easily if so go for it. cn get more out of it.. btw do you know anything about lake city green tip? ( .223/5.56)

Just bought a KelTec PLR16. I know nothing about the ammo.
